Sometimes, it's one of those days where you can't even hide out on the toilet in peace. Because just outside the door...it gets very quiet....and then you hear peals of laughter....and open the door to find this:

It appears my little Macgyver has learned how to open the freezer, and retrieve her own damn ice cream sandwich, thankyouverymuch.

Can't even go to the bathroom without a mutiny - this is obviously what they mean when discussing parenting a toddler.

Ack, the exhaustion....

I spent today clearing out our downstairs den of various boxes of toys and other assorted items that have somehow nested down there and procreated. Brilliant me picks today to accomplish this monumentally back-breaking feat, when it is 104, count'em 104 degrees out.

Granted, it is significantly cooler in our basement, but STILL.

Moving all the heavy boxes and whatnot wasn't really conducive to letting Zoe play downstairs with me while I worked, so I set up the little blowup pool for her, just beyond the glass door outside on the patio. But I couldn't stand there and watch her....what to do, what to do?? A-HA!! Johnny JumpUp to the rescue!

I cannot even to begin to describe what an insanely big hit this was. She refused to let me take her out for two and a half hours.

The sweet sleep of little angels...

who missed her afternoon nap and barely made it through her bottle before bed.
